Joining the Pieces
Join yarn to one side, sc going through the front and the back of the top, stitching 10 (12, 14, 16, 18) sc. Sc only working through the front of the top until only 10 (12, 14, 16, 18) stitches remain.
Again, stitch sc going through the front and the back of the pieces. Slst back across those 10 (12, 14, 16, 18) stitches, sc across the back opening of the piece, slst across the beginning 10 (12, 14, 16, 18) stitches. Tie off and weave in your ends.
Closing the Sides of the Top
With Wrong sides out, measure down:
- 6 inches – S/M
- 7 inches - L/XL
- 8 inches - 2 X
From top or shoulder, evenly sc down:
- 8 inches - S/M
- 10 inches For L/XL/2 X
Tie off and weave in the ends.
Repeat on the other side.
Note: This will leave a slit up each side. If you prefer, you can sc to the bottom edge of the top.
