Note: I used chainless starting dc/tr for every first dc/tr of each round instead of ch 3/ch 4. Another good crochet technique is ch 2/ch 3, dc/tr into the same stitch (counted as 1st dc/tr). In the pattern below, you’ll see I simply state dc/tr for every first dc/tr of each round, so just choose your best technique.

Picot stitch: (sc, ch3, sc) into the same stitch.

Start with yellow yarn to make the flower’s pistil part. Form a magic ring, 12 dc into the ring (fasten off), total 12 sts. Change to white yarn, crochet all into front-loop stitches only:
*ch 4, sc into 2nd ch from hook, 2 hdc across, sl into next stitch from first chain.* Repeat **12 times around. Total 12 petals (fasten off).

Square Bed (Basic Granny Square Pattern)

Using green and dark green yarn.

Round 1

Start with green yarn. Work into the back-loop stitches behind the flower. With green yarn, join yarn into any back-loop stitch, inc dc into every stitch around, total 24 sts, sl into 1st to join.

Round 2

Make 9 squares; now it’s time to join them. There are many ways to join crochet motifs, and you can pick any method you want. I used the single crochet seam method and dark green yarn to join the squares.

Using green color yarn, crochet border around with sc (make 3 sc into each corner).
