Finished Size

Approximately 30 cm (12 inches) tall using worsted weight yarn and 3 mm crochet hook.

Approximately 28 cm (11 inches) tall using DK/Light Worsted Weight yarn and 3 mm crochet hook.

Approximately 20 cm (8 inches) tall using DK/Light Worsted Weight yarn and 2.75 mm crochet hook.

You can use any yarn and crochet hook combination that gives you good tension. Normally this would be a hook at least two sizes smaller than that recommended on the yarn label.

Materials

  • Yarn in flesh, blue, light yellow, red, and black (see note below)
  • Crochet hook
  • Safety eyes (optional, can be embroidered instead)
  • Stuffing

You can use any yarn and crochet hook combination that gives you good tension. Normally this would be a hook around two sizes smaller than that recommended on the yarn label. For Snow White I used a 2.75 mm hook with 8ply/DK acrylic yarn.

sc – single crochet

dec – decrease

inc – increase

blo – crochet through back loops only

sl – slip stitch

dc – double crochet

The numbers in brackets at the end of each round indicate how many stitches you should have at the end of the round.

Arms (Make 2)

Using flesh colored yarn:

Round 1: 4 sc into magic ring (4)

Round 2: 4 inc (8)

Rounds 3-10: 8 sc (8 rounds)

Change to blue colored yarn:

Round 11: 8 sl

Round 12: working in blo, 8 inc (16)

Rounds 13-14: 16 sc (2 rounds)

Round 15: 8 dec (8)

Fasten off.

Body Starting at Feet, Stuffing as You Go

Legs

Using light yellow colored yarn:

Round 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6)

Round 2: 6 inc (12)

Round 3: (3 sc, 3 inc) 2 times (18)

Round 4: 18 sc blo (18)

Round 5: 18 sc

Change to flesh colored yarn:

Round 6: 18 sl blo

Round 7: working in blo: 2 sc, 7 dec, 2 sc (11)

Round 8: 2 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc

Rounds 9-19: 9 sc (11 rounds)

Round 18: 1 inc, 4 sc, 1 inc, 3 sc (11)

Fasten off.

Make second leg, but do not fasten off.

If you are not already at the side of leg with foot facing forward, sc until there. Change to blue colored yarn. Chain 1 stitch.

Body

Round 1: 11 sc around leg that you fastened off (so legs are then attached to each other), 1 sc in ch, 11 sc around second leg, 1 sc in ch (24)

Round 2: 10 sc, dec, 10 sc, dec (22)

Rounds 3-7: 22 sc (5 rounds)

Round 8: 5 sc, 1 dec, 9 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc (20)

Rounds 9-10: 20 sc (2 rounds)

Sc to side of body with feet facing forward if not already there.

Round 11: 8 sl around arm, 10 sc on body, 8 sl around other arm, 10 sc on body (36)

Round 12: (1 sc, 1 dec) x 12 (24)

Round 13: 12 dec (12)

Change to flesh colored yarn:

Round 14: 12 sl blo

Round 15: 12 sc blo

Round 16: 12 inc (24)

Round 17: 24 inc (48)

Rounds 18-25: 48 sc (8 rounds)

Place safety eyes between rounds 23 and 24, making sure they are center on face and 8 stitches apart.

Round 26: (6 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (42)

Round 14: Turn, skip 1 stitch, 26 dc, sl to join.

Fasten off. Pin hair to head and then sew into place.

Bow

Using red colored yarn:

Row 1: 11 ch

Row 2: starting in 2nd ch from hook, 10 sc

Rows 3-6: 1 ch, 10 sc

Fasten off. Find the center of the bow and wrap yarn tightly around, pulling tightly to form a bow. Pin to head and sew in place.

Skirt

Using light yellow colored yarn:

Row 1: Working through posts of stitches on body between the 5th and 6th round of blue on the body, 22 sl.

Row 2: working through loops closest to legs, 3 ch (1 dc, 2 dc in next stitch) x 11 (33)

Row 3: 3 ch (2 dc, 2 dc in next stitch) x 11 (44)

Rows 4-10: 3 ch, 44 dc (7 rounds)

Fasten off.
