I used
Thread: Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread. Classic 10. 0 Lace. Colour: Shaded Purples.
Yarn: Willow Burrow Worsted. Colour: Chalk
5 mm hook
3.5 mm hook
1/8 inch light purple ribbon
Using both thread and yarn together throughout pattern until told otherwise, and 5mm hook.
Round 1:
Slip Knot. Ch 2, 5 hdc in slipknot. Ss to join in beg ch 2. (6hdc)
Round 2:
Ch 2. Turn. 2 hdc in ea st around. Hdc in same st as beg ch 2. Ss to join in top of beg ch 2 to join. (12hdc)
Round 3:
Ch 2. Turn. *Hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. Hdc in same st as beg ch 2. Ss to join in top of beg ch 2 to join. (18hdc)
Rounds 4-10:
Ch 2. Turn. Hdc in ea st around. Ss to join in top of beg ch 2 to join.(18hdc)
Round 11:
Ch 1. Turn. Sc in same st. *Ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. (18sts with ch's) Ss to join in beg sc to join.
Round 12:
Ch 4. Do not turn. *Ss in next sc, ch 4*. Repeat from * to * around. Ch 4, Ss to join in same sp as beg ch 4. Fasten of Chalk Yarn. (9 ch4 sps)
Round 13:
Now working with Thread only and 3.5 mm hook. Ch 1. Do not turn. Sc in same st. *(2hdc, 5 dc, 2hdc)all in next ch 4 sp, sc in next sc.* Repeat from * to * around. ss in beg sc to join. Fasten off. Weave in ends. (9 Shells)
Weave ribbon through Round 11 chain spaces. Fasten in a bow.
