Braided Ties
Cut 10 pieces each of 2 colors of yarn (5 of each color per ear) cut at approximately 30 inches each.
Divide into 2 even parts. Cut 2 pieces of yarn at 6 inches each. Starting with one ear, find the center of one of the two bundles, pull the center through the bottom of the ear flap (so the loop is inside the hat). Pull the yarn ends through the top of the loop. Tighten the loop. Repeat with the other ear.
Braid ties to a matching length. Fasten at the bottom of the braid with 6-inch pieces of yarn. Trim to even ends.
Make a 4-inch Pom Pom (see video for help with pom pom) and attach it to the top of the hat. Using the longer string you tied the pom pom with and a needle, draw the ends through the top of the hat from outside to inside. Knot and weave in ends on the inside of the hat.
