(DISCONTINUED) Bernat Baby Coordinates Sweet Stripes – 1 skein each of Sunny Stripes, Grape Stripes, Sprite Stripes, and Melon Stripes
Bernat Baby Coordinates – 1 skein of Lovely Lilac

USE ANY SELF–STRIPING BABY YARN

Crochet Hook size G/4.0 mm

Tapestry Needle

Guage: 3 rows = 1”
1 finished square = 8” X 8”

Stitches: Sc – Single Crochet
Hdc – Half Double Crochet
Dc – Double Crochet

Sl St – Slip Stitch

Square: Make 4 each in yellow, purple, green and orange.

Ch 30. (Should measure 8” long)

Row 1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (29 sc)

Row 2 – 29. Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (29 sc)

Row 30. Sc in each sc across. Fasten off, leaving a 12” tail for sewing squares together. (29 sc)

Finishing: Using tapestry needle, sew squares together following photo. Weave in ends.
Border:
Row 1: Using Lilac and beginning in a corner stitch, work 121 hdc evenly around each side of blanket as follows: 3 hdc in each corner, 29 hdc on side of each square, and 1 hdc in each of three joins. See diagram below.

Row 2: Sl St in first hdc after middle corner stitch. Skip next 2 hdc, 5 dc in next hdc, skip next 2 hdc, [*sl st in next hdc, skip next 2 hdc, 5 dc in next hdc, skip next 2 hdc, sl st in next hdc,* repeat from * to * for length of side, ch 3, skip middle corner stitch, sl st in next hdc,], repeat [ ] around blanket, join with sl st in beg sl st. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
