Materials
- Worsted Weight approximately 3 ounces for hat
- Small amount for flowers
- 7 or 8 5/8 inch buttons
- Size US I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Embroidery floss and needle for sewing flowers
Notes
- Read instructions all the way through before beginning.
- Pull joining slip stitches tight.
- Flowers may either be sewn to hat or glued. Preferably, sew them using a button for the center and embroidery floss for thread. It is best to sew the leaves on first and then top with your flowers. I sew on the leaves with a running stitch through the center of the leaf.

Flower Instructions
(make 7 or 8)
Ch 4, join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 9 sc in ring, working over tail at the same time. Join with slip stitch in first sc.
Round 2: Ch 3, 3 dc in same st as join, ch 2, slip stitch in next st. *Ch 3, 3 dc in next st, chain 2, slip stitch in next st. Repeat from * 2 times. Ch 3, 3 dc in next st, chain 2. Fasten off without joining. (5 petals)
Use the tapestry needle to join end in first slip stitch.
Weave in ends.
Double Leaves
