You’ll need:

10 skeins of beige yarn (78% cotton, 22% silk; 82m/50g);

Crochet hook 5.

Size: approx. 30−35 х 170−180 cm.

Used Patterns

Motif: make a loop, make 6 chain sts and circle them with the help of slip st.

1st row: 1 chain st, 12 single crochets in the ring, finish with 1 slip st in the 1st chain st;

2nd row: * 14 chain sts, 1 slip st in the 1st single crochet, 1 slip st in the next single crochet*; repeat from * to * to make 6 “petals”, finish with slip st;

3rd row: * 18 half crochets in chain of 14 chain sts of “petal”, 1 slip st in slip st*; repeat from * to *, finish with 1 slip st.

Note: motifs are connected with one another in the process of work, so the 2nd motif (after the first 9 half crochets) is joined to the edge of “petal” of the first motif with the help of slip st, etc. Motifs are alternated in chess-board order: there should be about 3 and 2 full motifs by turn in a row. Then, ass half motif from both sides in a row with 2 motifs.

Half-motif: motif consists of 4 “petals”. Make a loop, make 6 chain sts and circle them in the ring with slip st.

1st row: 1 chain st, 8 single crochets in the first half of the ring, turn;

2nd row: 14 chain sts, 1 single crochet in the 2nd single crochet, 1 slip st in the 3rd single crochet, 14 chain sts, 1 slip st in the 4th single crochet, 1 slip st in the 5th single crochet, 14 chain sts, 1 slip st in the 6th single crochet, 1 slip st in the 7th single crochet, 14 chain sts, 1 slip st in the 8th single crochet, turn;

3rd row: 1 chain st, * 18 half crochets in chain of 14 chain sts of “petal”, 1 slip st in slip st*; repeat from * to *, until all 4 “petals” are fastened, finish with 1 slip st in the ring.

Note: half-motifs form vertical edges of shawl and every out of 4 “petals” is joined to the nearby full motifs. Totally, make 33 full motifs and 12 half-motifs. Make 6 tassels and join them to free “petals” of short sides of shawl, 3 tassels from each side.

Stitches control: 1 motif = 14 cm in diameter.
