Two easy formats have been used to write this adult crochet keyhole scarf pattern for UK crocheters and USA crafters.

Abbreviations UK & USA

ch. Chain
dc. Double Crochet – sc
tr. Treble Crochet – dc
rpt. Repeat

Best Yarn
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn in the pattern materials section.

I have used Stylecraft Special DK yarn in fondant and cream for the adult crochet keyhole scarf pattern, but there are lots of other colours to choose from.

Crochet Hook Size

Pattern asks for a 5.00mm crochet hook, multiples are included at the top of the pattern but you can also use a larger hook and thicker yarn if you want to make the scarf bigger.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Approx Finished Size: 6 inches wide x 40 inches long

Materials

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
100 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn

5.00mm crochet hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of any even number.

Make 156ch loosely, working through back bump (see pic) work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (155dc)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * 1tr into next dc, 1dc into next dc. * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1dc into next dc. * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Rpt 3rd Row until 7 rows have been worked. Turn.

8th Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at the base of the 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1dc into next dc. * rpt from * to * 15 more times, make 11ch, miss 11 stitches, 1dc into next dc, rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

9th Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at the base of the 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1dc into next dc. * rpt from * to * to 11ch space, work 1dc into each of the 11ch, 1dc into next dc, rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Rpt 3rd Row until 24 rows have been worked in all or work measures approx 6 inches from beginning. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave and trim off all loose ends of yarn, post opposite end of scarf through keyhole.
