Pattern for the Crochet Easter Egg Basket

Starting with the base color of white:

  • R1: 6sc - 6st
  • R2: 6inc - 12st
  • R3: {sc, inc} x6 - 18st
  • R4: {sc, sc, inc} x6 - 24st
  • R5: {sc, sc, sc, inc} x6 - 30st
  • R6: {sc, sc, inc, sc, sc} x6 - 36st
  • R7, R8, R9, R10: 36sc - 36st
  • After row 10, cut yarn and make the invisible join.
  • With the color green for the leaves:
  • R11: (ch3, ch1, dc), skip 2 stitches, {(dc, ch1, dc), skip 2 stitches} x11, cut yarn, join invisibly - altogether you will have 12 triangles
  • With the color red - flowers with the popcorn stitch:
  • R12: in each of the 12 triangles you make in the ch1: (pop, ch2) x12 - where the first popcorn stitch is made with a ch3 that counts as the first dc and 4 dc, for the rest you do a pop with 5dc - cut yarn, join invisibly
  • Now back to the base color - white:
  • R13: in each of the 12 ch2 holes you make: sc in the red, sc in the red and green, sc in the red - the second single crochet is pulled over R11 and R12, so it fills the gap a bit. Cut yarn, join invisibly - 36st
  • R14: {skip 2 stitches and in the third one make 8dc, skip 2 stitches and close with a sl st} x6 - cut yarn, join invisibly
