Materials

Worsted Weight Yarn (#4)
-Any Color (<3oz)
I/9/5.50mm Crochet Hook

Gauge: 9 sts x 9 rows = 2″

Finished Measurements: 22″ (Adult)

This pattern splits at row 41 and I have those separate sections marked as “A” and “B”.

Instructions

R1. Ch 15, working in back bump of ch: *hdc, sl st* across, turn (14)
R2. Ch 1, *hdc, sl st* across, turn (14)
R3-40. Repeat R2
R41a. Ch 1, hdc in 1st st, *sl st, hdc* 3X, [leave remaining sts unworked], turn (7)
R42a. Ch 1, sl st in 1st st, *hdc, sl st* across, turn (7)
R43a. Ch, hdc in 1st st, *sl st, hdc* across, turn (7)
R44a-61a. Repeat R42a & 43a; Fasten at the end of R61a.
R41b. Attach yarn to 1st unworked st on R40: Ch 1, sl st in 1st st, *hdc, sl st* across, turn (7)
R42b. Ch 1, hdc in 1st st, *sl st, hdc* across, turn (7)
R43b. Ch 1, sl st in 1st st, *hdc, sl st* across, turn (7)
R44b-61b. Repeat R42b & 43b (leave working loop)
R62. Cross strips over each other (41a-61a & 41b-61b):
Ch 1, *hdc, sl st* across the end of both strips to join them back together, turn (14)
R63. Ch 1, *hdc, sl st* across, turn (14)
R64-101. Repeat R63
R102. Hold short ends right sides together and work through both layers: Ch 1, sl st in each st across; flip ear warm right side out (14)
R103. Working with right side facing out: Ch 1, sc in the end of every other row around; Fasten.
R104. Attach yarn to seam on opposite side of scs: Ch 1, sc in the end of every other row around; Fasten.

Finishing

Hide All Strings.
Add buttons or other appliqués as desired.

Nice design, but as for me I'd choose a dark colour yarn, as I'm blonde
