What you'll need:

2 skeins of "I Love this Cotton" yarn in Forest Green
5mm straight knitting needles

Abbreviations:

CO: cast on
K: knit
P: purl
K1b: knit 1 stitch through the back loop
P1b: purl 1 stitch through the back loop
BO: bind off

Gauge: 18 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette

Instructions

CO 31 stitches
Rows 1-5: knit
Row 6 (ws): k4, p23, k4
Row 7 (rs): k10, k1b, k9, k1b, k10
Row 8: k4, p6, p1b, p9, p1b, p6, k4
Row 9: k9, p1, k1b, p1, k7, p1, k1b, p1, k9
Row 10: repeat row 8
Row 11: k8, p2, k1b, p2, k5, p2, k1b, p2, k8
Row 12: repeat row 8
Row 13: k7, p3, k1b, p3, k3, p3, k1b, p3, k7
Row 14: repeat row 8
Row 15: repeat row 7
Row 16: repeat row 6
Row 17: knit
Row 18: repeat row 6
Row 19: k15, k1b, k15
Row 20: k4, p11, p1b, p11, k4
Row 21: k14, p1, k1b, p1, k14
Row 22: repeat row 20
Row 23: k13, p2, k1b, p2, k13
Row 24: repeat row 20
Row 25: k12, p3, k1b, p3, k12
Row 26: repeat row 20
Row 27: repeat row 19
Row 28: Repeat row 6
Row 29: knit
Repeat rows 6-29 until scarf reaches desired length, then knit four more rows to finish the border. Block and weave in any loose ends to finish.

do not see any border stitches in the pattern but there seems to be a border on the photo
