Gauge

21 sts and 28 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Seed Stitch Pattern.

Measurements

Approx 2½" [6 cm] wide x 55½" [141 cm] long.

Instructions

Cast on 2 sts

1st row: (RS). K1. P1.

2nd row: P1. K1.

3rd row: [(P1. K1) in next st] twice. 4 sts.

4th row: (K1. P1) twice.

5th row: (K1. P1) in first st. K1. P1. (K1. P1) in last st. 6 sts.

6th row: *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row.

7th row: (P1. K1) in first st. (P1. K1) twice. (P1. K1) in last st. 8 sts.

8th row: *K1. P1. Rep from * to end of row.

9th row: (K1. P1) in first st. *K1. P1. Rep from * to last st. (K1. P1) in last st. 10 sts.

10th row: As 6th row.

11th row: (P1. K1) in first st. *P1. K1. Rep from * to last st. (P1. K1) in last st. 12 sts.

12th row: As 8th row.

13th row: As 9th row. 14 sts.

14th row: As 6th row.

15th row: As 11th row. 16 sts.

16th row: As 8th row.

17th row: As 9th row. 18 sts.

Continue even in established Seed Stitch Pattern until piece measures 21" [53.5 cm] from point, ending on a WS row.

Next row: (RS). Ssk. Pattern to last 2 sts. K2tog. 16 sts.

Continue even in pattern until piece measures 54½" [138.5 cm] from point, ending on a WS row.

Next row: (RS). Ssk. Pattern to last 2 sts. K2tog.

Next row: Work even in pattern.

Repeat last 2 rows 5 times more. 4 sts.

Next row: (RS). Ssk. K2tog. 2 sts.
