Crochet hooks 2 mm and 2.25 mm.

Sole
Work in 2 strands of yarn for the sole only. Use yarn (A) – Ch10 [12, 12, 14].
Rnd 1: ch2 to count as 1st hdc, 3 hdc in the same st, hdc in next 8 [10, 10, 12] sts, 7 hdc in last st, work on the opposite side of the foundation ch, hdc in next 8 [10, 10, 12] sts, 3 hdc in 1st st. Join with sl st = 30 [34, 34, 38] sts.
Rnd 2: ch2 to count as 1st hdc, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 4 [5, 5, 6] sts, hdc in next 6 [7, 7, 8] sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 6 [7, 7, 8] sts, hdc in next 4 [5, 5, 6] sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc in 1st st. Join with sl st = 42 [46, 46, 50] sts.

Fasten off. Sole should be thick and stable. Mark back 23 [25, 25, 27] stitch with markers.
Heel and Side Strap
Row 1: Join yarn (A) with sl st, work first row in back-half loops of sole. ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in each of the next 22 [24, 24, 26] sts. Turn.
Row 2-6: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in each st = 23 [25, 25, 27] sts. Turn.
Row 7: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in each st, ch21 for strap. Turn.
Row 8: sc in 3rd ch from hook, sc in each of rem ch and st of heel = 43 [45, 45, 47] sts. Turn.
Row 9: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in next 38 [40, 40, 42] sts, ch2, skip next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts. Turn.
Row 10: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in each st = 43 [45, 45, 47] sts. Fasten off.
With yarn (B), work sc around edge of heel and strap.
Toes and Central Loop
Row 1: Mark 6 front central stitches and join yarn (A) with sl st, work in back-half loops of sole. ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in next 5 sts. Turn.
Row 2: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in same sts, 2 sc in each of rem sts = 12 sts. Turn.
Row 3: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in same st, sc in next 10 sts, 2 sc in last st = 14 sts. Turn.
Row 4: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in each st = 14 sts. Turn.
Row 5: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in same st, sc in next 12 sts, 2 sc in last st = 16 sts. Turn.
Row 6-13: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in each st = 16 sts. Turn.
Only for size 9-12 months make 2 more rows of sc in each st.
Fasten off. Mark central 6 sts to continue. Join yarn (A) with sl st.
Row 1-18: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc in next 5 sts = 6 sts. Turn.
With yarn (B), work sc around edge of toe cap and central strap.
Fold central strap in half and sew to create a loop.
Assembly
Place toe cap of sandal and sole, work sc in front-half loops (yarn B) all around edge of sole joining parts together.
Pull side strap through central loop. Sew on button. Both sandals crochet the same way, but side-strap should match the left and right side.
