Understanding the Chain Stitch and Rows

The quantity of stitches is multiple 4 + 1 + chain stitch increase.

Row-by-Row Instructions

1st Row

1 chain stitch increase, *1 single crochet in the next chain stitch, 5 chain stitches, skip 3 chain stitches*; repeat from * to *, 1 single crochet in the last chain stitch;

2nd Row

5 chain stitches increase, *1 single crochet in the next arch of chain stitches, 5 chain stitches*; repeat from * to *, 1 single crochet in the next arch of chain stitches, 2 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in the last single crochet;

3rd Row

1 chain stitch increase, 1 single crochet in double crochet, *3 chain stitches, 1 single crochet in the next arch of chain stitches*; repeat from * to *;

4th Row

1 chain stitch increase, *1 single crochet in the next single crochet, 1 double crochet in the stitch of the single crochet*; repeat from * to *, 1 single crochet in the last single crochet;

5th Row

1 chain stitch increase, *1 single crochet in the next single crochet*; repeat from * to *, 1 single crochet in the last single crochet.
