How to Knit a Stylish Pullover and Scarf with Superbingo Yarn

You’ll Need:

650 (750)g of lilac Superbingo yarn (100% merino wool; 55m/50g);

Straight knitting needles 5 and 6;

Circular knitting needles 5.

Used Patterns

Main Pattern

The quantity of stitches is multiple of 12 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to the scheme, which includes both RS and WS rows.

Garter Stitch

In RS and WS rows – knit. In circle rows – 1 circle row of knit stitches, followed by 1 circle row of purls by turn.

Stitches Control

15.5 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Pullover

Back

Cast on 74 (86) stitches with knitting needles 5 and make 1 WS row of knit stitches. Don’t take this row into account. Then, switch to knitting needles 6 and work with the main pattern. In 32.5 cm = 72 rows from the set-up row, bind off 6 stitches from both sides for arm-holes = 62 (74) stitches. In 50 cm = 110 rows (54 cm = 118 rows) from the set-up row, bind off the central 24 stitches for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 3 stitches and 1 x 2 stitches in every 2^nd row from inwards. In 52.5 cm = 116 rows (56.5 cm = 124 rows) from the set-up row, bind off the remaining 14 (20) stitches of shoulder from both sides.

Front

Make in the same way as the back, but for a deeper neck-hole, bind off the central 12 stitches in 47 cm = 104 rows (51 cm = 112 rows) from the set-up row and bind off in the following order: 1 x 4 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches, 1 x 2 stitches and 2 x 1 stitch in every 2^nd row.

Sleeves

Cast on 38 (50) stitches with knitting needles 5 and make 1 WS row of knit stitches. Then, switch to knitting needles 6 and work with the main pattern. At the same time, starting from the set-up row, increase 2 x 1 stitch in every 12^th row and 10 x 1 stitch in every 8^th row = 62 (74) stitches, including the increased stitches in the pattern. In 51 cm = 112 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the stitches.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 84 stitches with circular knitting needles along the neck-hole and knit 2 cm of garter stitch for the placket. Then, bind off all the stitches as knit stitches. Sew up the sleeves and assemble side and sleeve seams.

Scarf

Cast on 30 stitches with knitting needles 6 and work with garter stitch. In 120 cm from the set-up row, bind off all the stitches as knit stitches. Sew the set-up and the bound off edges together.
