Complete Guide to Knitting with Grey-Blue Natura Yarn: Patterns, Instructions, and Assembly Techniques

You’ll Need:

350 (450)g of grey-blue Natura yarn (46% merino wool, 28% bamboo, 12% cotton, 7% alpaca; 100m/50g);

Knitting needle 4.5;

Crochet hook 4.5.

Size:

S (M) L.

Used Patterns:

Stockinette Stitch:

In RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Lace Pattern:

The quantity of sts is multiple 12 + 11 + 1 chain st increase.

Work according to the scheme. Start every row with 1 or 3 chain sts increase instead of the 1st single or double crochet and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat. Repeat 1st-5th rows once, then repeat 2nd-5th rows.

Stitches Control:

Stockinette Stitch: 14 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Lace Pattern: 13 sts x 9.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 64 (77) sts and work with stockinette stitch. In 22 (24) cm from the set-up row, bind off all the sts loosely. Fasten the upper edge with lace pattern, skipping 1 st of the set-up row in every pattern repeat (i.e., repeat the pattern 4 or 5 times). Finish your work at 30 (32) cm height of lace pattern.

Front:

Make in the same way as the back, but in 33 (35) cm from the set-up row, bind off 5 sts from both sides, 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row. At the same time with the first decrease, divide your work in half for V-shape neck-hole (bind off the central st) and finish both sides separately. For neck-hole chamfers, bind off 14 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards, i.e., make the 3rd and 2nd sts from the end of the row as knit2tog and the 2nd and 3rd sts from the beginning of the row as broaching. In 52 (56) cm from the set-up row, bind off the rest 10 (16) sts from each side.

Left Lace Part of Front:

Make 83 (96) chain sts + 1 chain st increase and work with lace pattern. In 6 cm = 4 rows from the set-up row, leave 41 (45.5) cm from the left side for strap. Then, leave 7 x 1 cm in every 2nd row from the left side for neck-hole chamfer. Finish your work in 30 (32) cm from the set-up row.

Right Lace Part of Front:

Make in symmetry to the left part.

Sleeves:

Make 35 chain sts + 1 chain st increase and work with lace pattern. At the same time from the set-up row, increase 13 (17) x 0.5 cm in every 2nd row, including the increased sts in the pattern. Finish your work in 54 cm from the set-up row.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams of lace parts, catching 7 (11.5) cm of front shoulder from both sides. Sew up the sleeves, make side seams, put the lace parts of the front upon the parts of stockinette stitch, catching both sides. Fasten the edges of lace parts of front and back neck-hole with 1 row of single crochets. Fasten the bottom part with 1 round of single crochets and shells.
