You’ll Need:

550g of grey Extra Merino Big yarn (100% sheep wool; 80m/50g);

Straight and circular knitting needles size 6.

Size: S.

Used Patterns

  • 3 x 3 rib;
  • 2 x 2 rib;
  • Main pattern: The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 24 + 1 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to the scheme, where only RS rows are stated; make WS rows according to the pattern, with yarn overs as purls.
    Start with 1 selvage stitch, pattern repeat, finish with the stitch after pattern repeat and 1 selvage stitch. Repeat the 1st-28th rows.

Stitches Control

Main pattern: 15.5 stitches x 20.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Ribs A and B: 17 stitches x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 75 stitches and work 14 cm of rib A between selvage stitches, starting and finishing with 2 knit stitches. Then, work with the main pattern. In 47.5 cm from rib, bind off the central 19 stitches for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 3 stitches in the next 2nd row from inwards. In 50 cm from rib, bind off the remaining 25 stitches of the shoulder from each side.

Front

Perform in the same way as the back, but with a deeper neck-hole. To achieve this, in 45 cm from rib, bind off the central 11 stitches and then bind off 1 x 3 stitches, 1 x 2 stitches, and 2 x 1 stitch every 2nd row.

Sleeves

Cast on 41 stitches and work with rib A between selvage stitches, starting and finishing with 3 knit stitches. In 15 cm from the set-up row, work in the following manner: 1 selvage stitch, the last 7 stitches of pattern repeat, pattern repeat x once, finishing with the first 8 stitches of pattern repeat and 1 selvage stitch. In 8 cm from rib, increase 1 stitch from both sides for sleeve chamfers, doing 3 x 1 stitch increases in every 4th row and 11 x 1 stitch increases in every 2nd row = 71 stitches total, including the increased stitches in the pattern. In 28.5 cm from rib, bind off all the stitches.

Assembly

Join the shoulder seams; for the collar, cast on 64 stitches with circular knitting needles and work 1 circular row of purls, then proceed with rib B. At a 19 cm height for the collar, bind off the stitches loosely. Sew up the sleeves, then complete the side and sleeve seams.
