How to Knit a Cozy Sweater with Elfin Purple Yarn

Main Pattern 1: due to the scheme;

Main Pattern 2: 3 knit sts, 3 purls by turn.

Stitches Control:

Main Pattern 1: 24 sts x 22 rows = 21 cm x 13.5 cm = 1 pattern;

Main Pattern 2: 12 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 98 sts and work with Main Pattern 1 in the following way: 1 selvage st, 4 pattern repeats, 1 selvage st. Knit 27 cm = 2 pattern repeats in height and start making side decreases. For this, decrease 17 x 1 st in every 4^th row = 64 sts. In 3 pattern repeats or in 67 cm from the set-up row, start making arm-holes and work with Main Pattern, increase 3 sts in this 1^st row. For arm-holes, bind off 7 (6) sts from both sides = 53 (55) sts. Then, knit straight for 20 (22) cm. After that, bind off 1 x 5 sts and 1 x 4 (2 x 5) sts in every 2^nd row from outer edge for shoulder chamfers. In 90 (92) cm from the set-up row, bind off the rest 35 sts.

Left Front:

Cast on 50 sts and work with Main Pattern 1 in the following way: 1 selvage st, 2 pattern repeats, 1 selvage st. Make side decreases from the right side, arm-hole and shoulder chamfer in the same way as for back. In 66 cm from the set-up row, decrease 1 st from the left side for neck-hole chamfer and 11 x 1 st in every 4^th row. At 90 (92) cm height, bind off the rest 5 sts.

Right Front:

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves:

Cast on 32 sts and work with Main Pattern 2. For sleeve chamfers, increase 6 (7) x 1 st in every 12^th (10^th) row from both sides = 44 (46) sts. In 42 (44) cm from the set-up row, bind off 7 (6) sts for sleeve caps and 12 x 1 st in every 3^rd row. In 60 (64) cm from the set-up row, bind off the rest 6 (10) sts.

Assembly:

Make shoulder and side seams from outer side.
