Step-by-Step Guide to Knitting a Beautiful Mohair Pullover with Relief Pattern

You’ll Need:

300g of Visantia Mohair yarn (70% Mohair, 30% Acryl; 200m/100g);

Knitting needles size 4;

Crochet hook size 3.

Size:

L

Stitches Control:

15 stitches x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

This pullover is knit from the neck-hole as one-piece cloth with a relief pattern of 13 pattern repeats according to scheme 1.

Cast on 65 stitches, which equals 13 pattern repeats of 5 stitches, and knit every pattern repeat following scheme 1 around.

Increase every pattern repeat by means of yarn overs to 14 stitches. After knitting 46 rows (182 stitches), define the center of the back and place the stitches as follows: for back – 56 stitches, for front – 60 stitches, for sleeves – 28 stitches (for each sleeve).

Transfer the stitches of the sleeves to an auxiliary needle. Transfer the back stitches to the working knitting needles and knit 5 cm of the back, continuing the pattern. Then, increase several stitches between the front and back to preserve the pattern and continue work for 15-20 cm as one-piece cloth around.

For better fitting, decrease every pattern repeat by 1 stitch. To avoid sharp decreases, make them over several rows instead of just one. Knit your pullover to the desired length and bind off every pattern repeat, ensuring your edges are more rounded according to scheme 2.

Transfer the sleeve stitches to the working knitting needles and finish each sleeve with straight and reversed rows following the ornament pattern. For better fitting, decrease 1 stitch from both sides every 6 rows. Bind off every pattern repeat, making your edge more rounded according to scheme 2.

Assembly

Cast on the stitches along the neck-hole and finish every pattern repeat, ensuring the edge is more rounded according to scheme 2. Sew the sleeves together. Fasten the neck-hole and lower edges of the pullover with single crochets and a "shrimp stitch" using the crochet hook.
