Popcorn (corn stitch) - group of 5 double crochets, which are made from one base st and connect them in the following way: draw the last st through the 1st crochet.

Note

Start new row with 3 sts increase.

How to finish each row? Replace 3 chain st to 1 chain st, 1 half double crochet.

Pattern repeat is 4 times, as you make square.

Starting from 3rd to 11th row crochet 2 double crochets under each chain st.

Starting from 6th row skip 1 double crochet of the previous row (1 st) after the first popcorn and before last.

Circle 6 chain sts in a ring.

1st row: * 1 puff st, 2 chain sts, 1 puff sts, 3 chain sts*;

2nd row: * 1 puff st, 1 chain st, 3 double crochets, 1 chain st, puff st, 3 chain sts;

3rd row: * 1 puff st, 1 chain st, 7 double crochets, 1 chain st, 1 puff st, 3 chain sts;

4th row: * 1 puff st, 1 chain st, 11 double crochets, 1 chain st, 1 puff st, 3 chain sts;

5th row: * 1 puff st, 1 chain st, 7 double crochets, popcorn, 7 double crochets, 1 chain, 1 puff st, 3 chain sts;

6th row: * 1 puff st, 1 chain st, 7 double crochets, popcorn, 1 double crochet, popcorn, 7 double crochets, 1 chain st, 1 puff st, 3 chain sts;

7th row: * 1 puff st, 1 chain st, 7 double crochets, (popcorn, 1 double crochet) twice, popcorn, 7 double crochets, 1 chain st, 1 puff st, 3 chain sts;

8th row: * 1 puff st, 1 chain st, 7 double crochets, (popcorn, 1 double crochet) 3 times, popcorn, 7 double crochets, 1 chain st, 1 puff st, 3 chain sts*;

Finish with 3 chain sts, 1 slip st.
