How to Knit a Stylish Dress and Mittens


You’ll Need:
400g for the dress and 150g for the mittens of yarn (50% wool, 50% acrylic) in white color;
Knitting needles 4;
Set of 5 short needles.

- Pearled pattern: 2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches by turn, replace the pattern on 2 stitches in every 3rd row;
- Wrong-side pattern: in right-side rows – purls, in wrong-side rows – knit stitches;
- Relief pattern: according to scheme 1;
- 1 x 1 rib.
Instructions:
Front:
Cast on 140 stitches and make 2 rows with the wrong-side pattern. Then, work in the following way: 27 stitches of pearled pattern at the beginning and end of the row, relief pattern according to scheme 1 in the center, and 4 stitches of the wrong-side pattern from both sides. At 10 cm height, start making decreases in the pearled pattern: 1 stitch in every 6th row from both sides. At 53 cm height, bind off 3 stitches from both sides for armholes, then 6 x 1 stitch in every 4th row. At 7 cm height from the beginning of work, bind off all stitches.
Back:
Make in the same way as the front.
Sleeves:
Cast on 70 stitches and work with the relief pattern, decrease 6 x 1 stitch in every 4th row from both sides. At 13 cm height, bind off the stitches.
Assembly:
Sew front and back together, then sew up the sleeves. Cast on 90 stitches along the neck-hole line and make 4 cm with 1 x 1 rib. Bind off the stitches.
Mittens:
Cast on 33 stitches and divide them on 4 needles. Make 5 cm of 1 x 1 circular rows. Then, make 30 cm according to scheme 2, increasing 2 stitches in every 6th row, and include them in the pattern. At 35 cm height from the beginning of work, make 5 cm with 1 x 1 rib and bind off the stitches.
