You’ll Need:

Hobbii Soft Alpac yarn. Each skein has 50 grams and 165 m in 2 colors: Coral as a main color and White for the brim:

  • 2Y – 145 grams / 478 m (3 skeins of coral, 1 of white);

  • 4Y – 175 grams / 577 m (3 skeins of coral, 1 of white);

  • 6Y – 225 grams/ 743 m (4 skeins of coral, 1 of white);

  • 8Y – 245 grams / 809 m (5 skeins of coral, 1 of white);

Crochet hook 3.5 mm.

Size:

2 (4, 6, 8) years.

Used Patterns:

Bobble stitch is a cluster of 5 double crochet made in the same stitch. Yarn over, insert the hook through the stitch, yarn over and pull out a loop. Repeat 5 times, then yarn over and pull the yarn through all the loops on your hook. After making the bobble, don’t make a chain. Just go into the next stitch and make the half double crochet.

Stitches Control:

17 hdc x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Make 72 (80, 88, 96) chain stitches.

Yoke:

*For the yoke, the number of stitches for sizes 4Y, 6Y, 8Y are written between brackets.

Row 1: Ch 2, 1 hdc in first 11 (12, 13, 14) stitches, 1 inc C, (1 hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc) in next stitch, 1 hdc in next 12 (14, 16, 18) stitches, 1 inc C in next, 1 hdc in next 22 (24, 26, 28) stitches, 1 inc C in next, 1 hdc in next 12 (14, 16, 18) stitches, 1 inc C in next, 1 hdc in last 11 (12, 13, 14) stitches. Ch 2 and turn.

Row 2: [1 hdc (make the hdc inserting the hook through all 3 loops) in each stitch until you get to the next corner (ch 2 space from the previous round), 1 inc in the ch 2 space]. Repeat to the end of the round. Join with a sl st with the first hdc. Ch 2 and turn.

Repeat round 2 until you have in total 10 rounds. At the end of round 10, join with a sl st and we will start working circular. Turn after each round.

Now continue working circular until you have in total:

  • 2Y – 11 rounds;

  • 4Y – 13 rounds;

  • 6Y – 16 rounds;

  • 8Y – 20 rounds;

Starting with the next round we will make the bobble stitches for the Minnie Pattern.

Because we will need to center the Minnie pattern, count the number of stitches that you have for the front side. The first row of the Minnie pattern has 21 stitches wide. After counting the number of stitches for the front side, mark 21 stitches in the middle.

Round 12 (14, 17, 21):

Start the round as usual. Continue to increase in corners because the yoke is not done yet. When you get to the first stitch marker (which represents the first bobble stitch of the Minnie pattern), make 1 bobble stitch as explained above, then continue with 1 hdc in the next stitch, 1 bobble in next, 1 hdc in next, 1 bobble in next, 1 hdc in next 11 stitches, [1 bobble in next, 1 hdc in next] repeat 2 more times. Continue the round as usual.

Keep following the Minnie Bobble pattern on the front side. After each round with bobbles, you will have 1 round just in hdc and the next will be again with bobbles.

Follow the pattern until you have in total for the yoke:

  • 2Y – 21 rounds;

  • 4Y – 24 rounds;

  • 6Y – 28 rounds;

  • 8Y – 30 rounds;

After finishing the yoke, we will separate the body of the sweater and the sleeves, and then we will start working the 3 parts individually.

Body:

Round 1: Start the round as usual. 1 hdc in each stitch until you get to the first corner. In the first corner make 1 partial hdc (yarn over, insert the hook, and pull out a loop). Skip the stitches for the sleeve and move to the next corner. In the next corner make a second partial hdc and then yarn over and pull the yarn through all the loops on the hook. On the front side keep following the Minnie Bobble pattern.

After finishing the front side and reaching the 3rd corner, you will have to proceed the same as for the first sleeve. Make one partial hdc in the 3rd corner, skip the stitches for the sleeve, 1 partial hdc in the 4th corner, yarn over and pull the yarn through all the loops on your hook. Continue with 1 hdc in each stitch until you reach the end of the round.

After the first round of the body, we will have to mark 2 stitches on the front side and 2 stitches on the back side in which we will increase to give the blouse the A shape. Count how many stitches you have from the left bobble to the edge of the blouse and put a stitch marker in the middle. Proceed the same on the right side. On the back, mark the corresponding stitches of the front side marked stitches.

Starting with round 2, we will work 1 hdc in each stitch, and we will make an increase in the 4 marked stitches (2 hdc in the same stitch). On the front side, we will continue to follow the Minnie Bobble Pattern.

Work like this for 12 rounds. If you want the blouse to be wider you can continue to increase a few more rounds.

After 12 rounds, you will continue to work without increasing for as many rounds as you want, until you reach the desired length. After finishing the Minnie Bobble Pattern, continue making just 1 hdc in each stitch.

Make as many rounds as you need to get to the desired length or until you have in total for the body:

  • 2Y – 26 rounds;

  • 4Y – 27 rounds;

  • 6Y – 29 rounds;

  • 8Y – 35 rounds;

Brim:

Round 1: We are making the brim in color white. If you don’t want the white line on the right side, you can make the first round of the brim in the main color.

Start working on the wrong side, with the 3rd round.

Ch 2, 1 Front post half double crochet in each stitch around. Ch 2 and turn.

Round 2: 1 hdc in the first stitch, 2 hdc in each stitch around. Ch 2 and turn.

Round 3: 1 hdc in each stitch around. Ch 2 and turn.

Repeat round 3, 2 more rounds or as many rounds as you want if you wish a wider brim.

Sleeves:

Insert the yarn to the armpit. We will work in rounds the same as the rest of the sweater, working on the right side and on the wrong side.

Round 1: 1 hdc in each stitch around.

Repeat round 1, until you have the desired length of the sleeve or until you have in total:

  • 2Y – 6 rounds;

  • 4Y – 12 rounds;

  • 6Y – 15 rounds;

  • 8Y – 20 rounds;

At the end, work the brim in the same way as for the bottom of the blouse.

Neck Line:

If you want, you can add the same brim made at the bottom of the sleeves and body on the neck line also. If not, just make 2 rounds in single crochet with the white color.

If you need, you can make some decreases on the first round.

When making the border on the back, where you have the blouse opened, on the first round make 2 buttonholes (ch 2, skip 2).
