S (M).Used Patterns:
- 1 x 1 rib;
- Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts;
- Pattern with stars, wrong-side and marked decreases: due to the scheme A and B (C and D). RS rows are stated with numbers from the right side. Make WS rows according to the ornament and replace 1 st in the WS with the pattern with stars. Always replace the sts on 2 sts.
Make decreases for arm-holes and neck-hole as per the scheme. Make all the sts stated on the scheme in width. In height, work rows 1-68 once according to the schemes A and B, then repeat rows 67 and 68 (rows 1-74 once according to the schemes C and D, then repeat rows 73 and 74).
Stitches Control:
- Pattern with stars, knitting needles 9: 13.5 sts x 15.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
- Wrong-side pattern, knitting needles 9: 12 sts x 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions:
Back:
Cast on 67 (73) sts with knitting needles 8 and make 3 cm = 5 rows with rib for the placket, starting with 1 WS row. Then, work according to scheme A (C). In 22 (24.5) cm = 34 (38) rows from the placket, bind off 8 sts from both sides of the placket for the arm-holes = 51 (57) sts. In 22 (23.5) cm = 36 (38) rows from the start of arm-holes, bind off 5 (6) sts from the beginning of arm-holes from both sides for shoulder chamfers, followed by 2 x 5 (6) sts in every 2nd row. In the next row, bind off the remaining 21 sts for the neck-hole.
Front:
Work in the same way as the back, but with a V-shaped neck-hole. To achieve this, in the 43rd (49th) row, leave the slipped st in the center and finish both parts separately. For the chamfer, bind off 1 x 1 st, followed by 4 x 2 sts, and 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards, as shown in the scheme, before and after the selvedge st. Make the shoulder chamfer at the height of the back.
Assembly:
Make seams. Cast on 87 sts to the previously left st along the neck-hole with long circle knitting needles = 88 sts and work in circular rows for the placket, continuing to make the slipped st and slipping this middle st together with the previous st as a knit st in every circle row. The next st is a knit st, drawn through the slipped sts. At a 2.5 cm height of the placket = 5th circle row, bind off the sts as knit sts, making knit2tog. Cast on 70 sts along the arm-holes with short circle knitting needles and make plackets as for the neck-hole.
