How to Crochet a Stylish Top with Mondial Nilo 5 Yarn

You’ll Need:

450 (500) 550 (600) g of Mondial Nilo 5 yarn in beige color (466);

100 g of the same yarn, but in blue color (125);

Crochet hooks 3 and 3.5;

Needle with big eye.

Size:

XS (S) M (L).

Used Patterns

Main Pattern:

1^st row (RS): single crochets, insert the crochet hook only through back loop of the base row;

2^nd row (WS): single crochets, insert the crochet hook only through front loop of the base row.

Repeat 1^st-2^nd rows.

Stitches Control:

18 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm (crochet hook 3.5);

20 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm (crochet hook 3).

Instructions

Back:

Make 80 (85) 90 (95) sts with beige yarn and crochet hook 3.5 and work with the main pattern.

In 33 (34) 35 (36) cm from the set-up row, leave 1 st unfinished from both sides and then work with the crochet hook 3 (without decreases since that moment).

In 60 (64) 68 (72) cm from the set-up row, leave 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 2 x 1 sts unfinished from both sides in every 2^nd row for arm-holes.

In 20 (21) 22 (23) cm from the beginning of arm-holes (don’t cut the yarn), fasten the back with 1 row of single crochet, making 3 single crochets in every corner st and finish the circle row with 1 slip st in the 1^st st of the row.

Front:

Make in the same way as back, but in 60 (64) 68 (72) cm from the set-up row, leave 1 x 3 sts, 2 x 1 st unfinished in every 2^nd row from both sides for arm-holes.

In 3.5 cm from the beginning of arm-holes, leave the central 2 (1-2) 1 sts unfinished and finish both sides separately.

In 14.5 (15.5) 16.5 (17.5) cm from the beginning of neck-hole, leave 2 x 7 sts (1 x 8 sts and 1 x 7 sts) 2 x 8 sts (1 x 9 sts and 1 x 8 sts) unfinished along the inner edge in every row for the smooth rounding.

In 2 cm from the neck-hole rounding, when there are 19 (21) 23 (25) sts left for each shoulder, don’t cut the yarn, fasten the front with 1 row of single crochets in the same way as back.

Cords:

Make 2 cords of chain sts 50 cm long.

Assembly:

Fasten back and front with 1 row of single crochets, making 3 single crochets in every corner st with blue yarn, finish circle rows with 1 slip st in the 1^st st of the row.

Make shoulder and side seams by means of 1 row of slip sts, insert the crochet hook in the sts of both detail for each slip st. Sew the cords to the lower edges of neck-hole.
