Pattern Repeat

Pattern repeat consists of 4 rows. For the 1st and 3rd rows, alternate rib and slip stitches; for the 2nd and 4th rows, use only slip stitches.

Pay attention to ensure that all stitches are crocheted only through the back loop!

Materials Needed

Make a chain of 23 stitches, where:

  • 3 stitches are rib
  • 4 stitches are flower-bud
  • 4 stitches are between flower-buds
  • 4 stitches are flower-bud
  • 4 stitches are between flower-buds
  • 3 stitches are rib
  • 1 chain stitch increases

Instructions

1st Row (Right-Side)

Begin by making the 1st slip stitch in the 2nd chain stitch from the crochet hook, followed by slip stitches in the next 2 stitches. Create the flower-bud as follows:

* 1 single crochet in the next stitch, 1 chain stitch. Find the front "stem" of the previously made single crochet, yarn over, insert the crochet hook into this left front "stem" of single crochet. Catch and pull the yarn, then catch the yarn again and pull it through the 2 stitches on the crochet hook (there will be 2 stitches left on the crochet hook).

Make another yarn over, insert the crochet hook in the same place (through the back loop of the single crochet), pull the yarn, catch the yarn once again, and pull it through the 3 stitches on the crochet hook, leaving 2 stitches uncrocheted (= half double crochet). Skip 1 stitch (which, for the 1st row, is 1 chain stitch), insert the crochet hook in the next stitch, pull the yarn (this will add 3 stitches on the crochet hook), catch the yarn and pull it through all 3 stitches on the crochet hook. Then, make a single crochet in the next stitch.*

Follow this with 4 slip stitches, then create another flower-bud, followed by 4 slip stitches for the interval, and finish with 3 slip stitches for the rib.

2nd Row (Wrong-Side)

Make 1 chain stitch increase, then proceed with slip stitches to the end of the row (a total of 22 slip stitches). Remember to execute a slip stitch in the last stitch of the row, which is the 1st chain stitch increase from the previous row.

3rd Row

Start with 1 chain stitch increase, then make 3 slip stitches for rib, followed by 4 slip stitches for the interval, then 4 slip stitches, create a flower-bud, and finish with 3 slip stitches for rib.

4th Row

Repeat the same instructions as for the 2nd row.

Final Steps

Continue repeating the 1st to 4th rows to complete your crochet pattern.
