RND 1: 1 selvedge st, 5 knit sts, slip 5 sts without knitting them, yarn in front of work (broaching), 1 selvedge st;
RND 2, RND 4, RND 6, RND 8: purl;
RND 3, RND 5, RND 7, RND 9: as 1st row;
The Butterfly Stitch Technique
RND 10: make a butterfly - 1 selvedge st, 2 purls, insert right-hand needle behind work, through 5 broachings, catch all of them and transfer to the left-hand knitting needle, purl 5 together, 1 purl, throw the previous st through the last (as a result, you should get 1 st out of 2), 7 purls, 1 selvedge st;
Continuing the Pattern
RND 11, RND 13, RND 15, RND 17, RND 19: 1 selvedge st, slip 5 sts to the right-hand needle without knitting (broaching), 5 knit sts, 1 selvedge st;
RND 12, RND 14, RND 16, RND 18: purl;
RND 20: 1 selvedge st, 7 purls, insert right-hand needle behind work, through 5 broachings, catch all of them and transfer to the left-hand knitting needle, purl 5 together, 1 purl, throw the previous st through the last (as a result, you should get 1 st out of 2), 1 selvedge st.
