Guide to Crochet Chain Stitches and Double Crochet Elements

Make 10 chain sts and circle them in a ring, insert the crochet hook in the 6^th st from it.

Working the Initial Rows

Work due to the following description: 2 chain sts, add 1 chain st to the crochet hook, 1 double crochet.

Then, * 2 chain sts, 3 single crochets*; repeat from * to * x 3 times.

Creating the Yarn Over Stitches

Make yarn over, chain st from the center of the element, chain st and yarn over together. As a result, there are 2 sts on the crochet hook.

Make the 2^nd yarn over and chain st from the center of the element and make them together. You should get 3 sts.

Repeat the previously described scheme to get 4 sts.

Crochet these 4 sts together, 3 chain sts.

Working on Subsequent Elements

(3 chain sts, 3 double crochets) x 3 times, 10 chain sts. Turn to the second element.

Connect the 1^st and 6^th chain sts, make 2 chain sts, insert the crochet hook in the 2^nd st from the connecting place.

Make double crochet, chain st from the center of the element, then, chain st and yarn over together.

There were 2 sts on the crochet hook + 1 just made st = 3 sts.

Crochet them together.

* 3 chain sts, 3 double crochets*; repeat from * to * x 3 times.

Transitioning to the Third Element

At this stage, we have 2 unfinished elements. Turn to the 3^rd element. Make 10 chain sts.

(3 chain sts, 3 double crochets) x 5 times, 3 chain sts, finish your work.

Make 1 single crochet.

Finishing Elements

Finish the 2^nd element: (3 chain sts, 3 double crochets together) x twice, 3 chain sts.

Finish the 2^nd element.

Make 1 single crochet, 3 chain sts, 3 double crochets together.

Completing Further Elements

Turn to the 4^th element. Make 10 chain sts.

After finishing 2 elements, turn to the 5^th element.

After finishing 2 elements on this one, connect the 5^th and 1^st motifs and continue making the 5^th element.

Turn to the 6^th element and then, finish the 5^th.

Finish the 4^th element, then, 1^st. Finish the pattern.
