I found different names for this stitch "corn", "hedgehog" etc., but I like this funny animals, so decided to name the post "hedgehog".

If you know any other names for this stitch, please, write them in comments below.

Aclinal pattern of scheme is 4 sts, vertical - 4 rows. Cast on even number of sts. Slip selvedge st in the 1st row, rotate 1knit st and 1 purl.

In the second line make knit st above knit st and slip purl with yarn over. Repeat to end of row.

In the third row slip 1st selvedge st. Slip those sts, that were previously slipped with yarn over, again and add one more yarn over. Knit wrong side sts as knit sts through front loop. Repeat to end of row and knit the last selvedge st as purl.

In the final row make wrong side sts as knit st after selvedge st, and st with 2 yarn overs knit as purl. Repeat to end of row.

Repeat from 1st to 4th rows.
