Directions

With F hook and red yarn, chain 8.

Row 1: Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain, chain 1, turn.

Row 2: 2 single crochets in first stitch, single crochet in next 5 stitches, 2 single crochets in last stitch, chain 1, turn.

Row 3: 2 single crochets in first stitch, single crochet in next 7 stitches, 2 single crochets in last stitch, chain 1, turn.

Row 4: 2 single crochets in first stitch, single crochet in next 9 stitches, 2 single crochets in last stitch, chain 1, turn.

Row 5: Decrease single crochet in first 2 stitches, single crochet in next 7 stitches, decrease single crochet in last 2 stitches, chain 1, turn.

Row 6: Decrease single crochet in first 2 stitches, single crochet in next 5 stitches, decrease single crochet in last 2 stitches, chain 1, turn.

Row 7: Decrease single crochet in first 2 stitches, single crochet in next 3 stitches, decrease single crochet in last 2 stitches, chain 1, turn.

Single crochet in next 2 stitches, fasten off, skip a stitch and attach yarn in next stitch, single crochet in last 2 stitches. Single crochet evenly around the apple; when you get to the bottom of the apple, single crochet once on the side of each lobe, work only a slip stitch in the skipped stitch at the bottom of the apple.

With green and G hook, chain 8.

Row 1: Half double crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in each remaining chain, chain 1, turn.

Rows 2-13: Half double crochet in each stitch across, chain 1, turn.

Slip stitch the ends together to form a ring, thread the needle with red yarn and stitch the apple onto the ring.

I turned my apple to the side so when I put it in a napkin inside, I can see the apple straight up instead of sideways.
