PATTERN NOTES
1) A ch1 at beg of the row DOESN'T count as a stitch

2) Magic ring = the starting point for crocheting in a spiral. Use which ever method you prefer.

3) Continuous rounds - HEAD, HAIR CAP parts and DRESS/BODY part are worked up in continuous rounds, which means that you will not be joining the last stitch of the round with the first one. Instead you will need to keep track of where each round started and how many stitches you have made because after each round you will continue right on to the stitches of the next round (with no join). It is useful to use a stitch marker or piece of yarn to mark the start or end of each round.

4) Joining rounds - SKIRT part is worked in joining rounds, which means that you will be joining the last stitch of the round to the first one with a slip stitch and than chaining 1 before continuing with the next round. Make the first stitch of the next round in the same stitch as the chain 1.

4) ( ) – The number of stitches that should be in a completed round/row are placed in brackets at the end of that round’s/row’s instructions.

5) This Sweet Angel Doll Amigurumi measures: 17 cm / 6.7 inch
6) You can make the Sweet Angel Doll bigger with a thicker yarn or a larger hook size.

7) 3) There is just minimal sewing, you will only sew the arms, the legs, the wings and the head to the body - this is quick and easy to do, there are no tricks.

HANDS AND LEGS
Color A and color D
Use i-cord technic to make hands and legs

HOW TO CROCHET AN I-CORD

An I-Cord is a crocheted cord, or rope, that is as long as you wish it to be.
I-Cords are great to use as drawstrings or as a purse strap, a lanyard, or any other rope or cord.

Once you get started, you’ll just keep adding rows until you reach your desired length!

R1: Chain-3. Insert hook into 2nd chain, pull up a loop. Insert hook into 3rd chain, pull up a loop. (3 loops on hook)

R2 – desired length: Remove two loops from hook, being careful not to lose them.

(it is fine to pinch the cord with thumb and finger)

With remaining loop, yarn over and chain 1. Insert hook into next (empty) loop, yarn over and pull up a loop.
Insert hook into last (empty) loop, yarn over and pull up a loop. (3 loops on hook)

Continue creating rows following these instructions until the cord is as long as you’d like.

To end the cord: yarn over and pull through all three loops on hook.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
You are done!

HANDS

Color Use skin-coloured yarn (peach)

Make 8 rows repeating i-cords instructions for both hands

Then fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing later.

LEGS AND SHOES

Use skin-coloured yarn (peach) and shoes-coloured yarn (silver)

Make 12 rows repeating i-cords instructions: 2 rows with shoes-coloured yarn and 10 rows with skin-coloured yarn

Then fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing later.

Add little crochet angel wings to the back of them to create the proper illusion of an angel. A cute little HEADBAND on the head also adds up to their charm!

WINGS

Color B - Use wing-coloured yarn (white)

Chain 5

R1: 1 sc in 2nd chain from the hook, sc in next 3 chains, turn (4)

R2: ch1, 1sc in each sc, turn (4 st)

R3: ch1, sc2tog, sc2tog, turn (2st)

R4: ch1, 1sc in each st, (2 st)

R5: ch1, then continue to crochet down the side of the piece, making 4 sc evenly spaced down the rows, then chain 5, turn

R6: sc in 2nd chain from the hook, sc in next 3 chains, sc in next 3 sc, 2sc in next st (corner), 1sc in next st, 2sc in next st (corner), then continue to crochet down the side of the piece, making 4 sc evenly spaced down the rows, then chain 5, turn

R7: sc in 2nd chain from the hook, sc in next 3 chains, sc in next 4 sc, 1 sl st in next 4 st, ch1, then continue to crochet down the side of the piece, making 1sc in next 9 st down the rows, then chain 3, turn

R8: sc in 2nd chain from the hook, sc in next chain, sc in next 9 st, 1 sl st in next 4st, ch1, then continue to crochet down the side of the piece, making 1sc in next 9 st down the rows, then chain 3, turn

R9: sc in 2nd chain from the hook, sc in next chain, sc in next 9 st, 1 sl st in next 4st, ch1, then continue to crochet down the side of the piece, making 1sc in next 9 st down the rows, then chain 3, turn

R10: sc in 2nd chain from the hook, sc in next chain, sc in next 10 st, 1 sl st in next 4st, ch1, then continue to crochet down the side of the piece, making 1sc in next 10 st down the rows, then chain 3, turn

R11: 1sl st in each st around

Cut yarn and fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn to use for joining.

FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS

Sew the head on the Angels body. Make sure the body and the head is stuffed well before sewing them together, but not so firm that you can see the stuffing through the stitches. Start sewing from the center back of the neck and make sure the center of the head is aligned. Work around the entire neck.

Sew two legs and two hands to the sides of the body

Sew the wings to the angels back

Make hairs - add strands to the hair cap - strands by strands – see instructions below.

Sew hair cap on the head. Work around the entire round.

HAIR TUTORIAL

STEP 1: MAKE YOUR AMIGURUMI

This process is done after all of the crocheting & stuffing & assembly has been completed.

STEP 2 – SEW IN OR DRAW A GUIDELINE

This step is not absolutely necessary, but taking the time to do it will make the rest of the process easier. Using a scrap piece of contrasting yarn, sew a guideline to mark the hairline.

Sew across the front (forehead), down the sides, and across the back. Finally, sew a part line up the middle.

STEP 3: MAKE HAIR = CUT YOUR YARN (THE SAME COLOR AS THE HAIR CAP) INTO PIECES

The pattern will specify the length of your hair pieces. If you’re making it up as you go along, just remember that each ‘hair’ will be folded in half. Make them long enough.
So, if you want your piece to have 10 cm long hair, you’ll need to cut 20 cm long pieces of yarn.
You can easily trim any excess off after you style the hair.

The easiest way to cut multiple pieces of yarn (and you’ll need a lot!) is to find a book/box that has a circumference the length of your pieces. Wrap your yarn around oodles of times, and then cut through them all at once.

To avoid wasting yarn, start with less, and cut more hair later as needed.

STEP 4: ATTACH HAIR - add your first piece of hair

Fold your yarn in half, so that there’s a U-shaped bend on one side, forming a loop and two ‘tails’ on the other side.

Now, look at your Angel doll amigurumi.

Insert hook into the desired stitch and pull up that loop. Yarn over with both ends, two „tails“ of the hair strand and pull all the way through and you are done!

I added hair in stitches around the outside edge of the hair cap and then added some through the middle from the front to the back to create a part. Feel free to add hair in a different way, if you prefer.

STEP 5: REPEAT UNTIL YOUR SWEET ANGEL DOLL HAS LOTS OF HAIR! STYLE HAIR AS DESIRED.

Just like styling human hair, doll hair can be a great way to express your creativity. In this tutorial, I’m using a crocheted doll and adding long hair with a center part and I pulled the hair into two side ponytails and tied them with one hair on the back side. There is a wide variety of hairstyles.
