Assembly & Finishing

Assembly tips:

  • Attach safety eyes to the head before stuffing, following the eye placement that looks best for the face. If using beads, sew them on securely.
  • Lightly stuff the head and body with fiberfill as you go, firm but not overstuffed to keep a soft look.
  • Sew the muzzle to the front of the head and embroider a nose or mouth if desired.
  • Sew ears and horns to the top and sides of the head, and attach arms and legs to the body using the long tails left for sewing.
  • Securely sew the keychain ring to the top of the head: either stitch a few strong passes of yarn through the top center and loop the ring onto a small jump ring, or use a small metal eye screw (if appropriate) and close it well. Make sure all ends are woven in and knots are hidden inside the toy.

Care: spot clean gently and avoid machine washing if you have safety eyes or metal hardware attached.

Enjoy your little crochet deer — a perfect tiny gift or charm to brighten keys and bags.
