Crochet Monster Appliques

Head: Light blue
Begin: MR, ch 1.
Round 1: Hdc 10 into ring, sl st to join, ch 1. (10st)
Round 2: 2Hdc in each st around, sl st to join, ch 1. (20st)
Round 3: *Hdc 1, 2hdc* repeat around, sl st to join, ch 3. (30st)

Eye Highlight: White
Begin: Ch 3.
Round 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in last st, fasten off, tie two tails in a knot to give a more pointy defined end. (2st)
Horns: Orange - make 2
Begin: Ch 9
Round 1: Sl st in 2nd st from hook, sl st, sc, 2sc, hdc 2, 2dc, dc, ch 1. (10st)
Round 2: Turn, sc 9, sl st in last st, fasten off. (10st)
Smile: Black
Begin: Ch 21.
Round 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc 18, sl st in last st, fasten off, tie two tails into a knot to give smile a more pointy defined look. (20st)
Teeth: White - make 2
Begin: Ch 5.
Round 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc, hdc, dc, fasten off. (4st)
Tongue: Pink
Begin: Ch 4.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 2, ch 1. (3st)

Feet: Dark Blue - Make 2
Begin: Ch 4.

Assembly:
Note: I assembled this applique with hot glue but you can also sew it together.
Center eye near top of monster head and attach
Space horns out to the sides to get your desired look and attach to the back of the head
Place smile below eye on row 5 of head and attach
Place teeth at edges of smile and attach
Center the tongue or put to the side slightly to get a different look and attach
Attach the eye highlight to the top right side of blue portion of eye
Attach feet to the back of head at bottom
“Pinky Monster”
Materials:

Begin: Ch 26 you can make shorter or longer by changing the chain length
Row 1: 2 Hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 2hdc in next 24 fasten off. (50st)
Smile: White and black
Begin: Ch 9.
Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc, hdc, dc, dc, hdc, sc, sl st in last st, fasten off.
Row 2: Change color to black, join, sc around the entire mouth/smile, sl st to join, fasten off.
Tentacle Feet: Orange
Begin: Ch 9.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc 7, *ch 9, hdc 8*, repeat *to* 3 more times. Should have 5 tentacle parts to the foot.
Option: If you would like your tentacles to be more sturdy and add to their structure you can do the following. After the last tentacle you can ch 1, turn and add a row of sc or hdc across the top of all the tentacles.
Assembly:
Note: I assembled this applique with hot glue but you can also sew it together.
Place eyes centered approx. 1 ½ apart to back of head
Place smile in bottom center and attach
Place arms centered on sides to back of head
Place tentacle feet to bottom center back of head
And voila! You are done and ready to decorate with these cute little monsters!
