Crochet Mesh Shoulder Bag

Materials Needed

• 3 rolls of fabric yarn (100g each)
• Small amount of 2mm thick cotton yarn (for decoration)
• Scissors
• Stitch markers
• Needle
• 500mm snap button
• 5.0 mm crochet hook

Base

Create 35 chain stitches.

Mark the 1st, 34th, and 31st stitches.

Base Row 1

Double crochet into the 29th chain from the hook.

Chain 1, skip 1 stitch, and double crochet into the next.

Repeat this pattern to the end.

Work a double crochet into the first stitch.

Base Row 2

Chain 4 and turn.

Double crochet into the previous row’s double crochet.

Chain 1, then double crochet into the next double crochet.

Repeat to the end.

Mark the third chain of the initial chain-4.

Base Row 3

Repeat Base Row 2.

Body

Chain 4 and mark the third chain.

Along the short side, work double crochets with chain 1 between each.

Mark the corners.

Continue around the base with double crochets and chain 1 spacing.

Slip stitch to join the first round.

Body Rows

Chain 4, turn, and double crochet into the previous row’s double crochets.

Chain 1, then double crochet again.

Continue this mesh pattern for 7 rows total.

Slip stitch to finish and weave in ends.

Straps

Mark strap placement points on the bag.

Attach yarn and chain 3.

For the first 5 rows, decrease at the beginning and end.

For rows 6–12, chain 4, turn, and double crochet without decreasing.

Repeat for the second strap.

Attach both straps securely to the bag.

Flap

Attach yarn at the center back of the bag.

Work 7 single crochets.

Chain 1, turn, and work 7 single crochets for 8 rows total.

Finishing Touches

Sew on the snap button to secure the flap.

Add a decorative bow or accent using colorful cotton yarn.
