How to Crochet a Whimsical Christmas Tree for the Holidays

Crocheting a Christmas tree is such a fun and festive way to add a touch of homemade charm to your holiday decor! Using your favorite yarn and crochet hook, you can create a cute and whimsical tree that will bring joy and warmth to your home during the holiday season. Whether you choose to adorn it with colorful beads, shiny sequins, or even tiny ornaments, your crochet Christmas tree is sure to become a cherished part of your holiday traditions.
This pattern is great for using up scrap yarn. I have mostly used Scheepjes Catona and they end up being about 8.5cm tall (not including the hanging loop). These are flat so no stuffing is needed:
- Scheepjes Catona 4ply, 100% mercerised cotton (you’ll need about 6 colours: 1 for the tree, 1 for the trunk, 1 for the edge details and 2-3 for the baubles)
- Ricorumi Gold Lamé (you can use this for edge details, the star, the baubles or the hanging loop).
- 2mm crochet hook (US C/2)
- Stitch marker
- Tapestry needle
