How to Crochet a Cute Baby Dory Fish

Body
Start with blue yarn.
The body starts off as a spiral but ends in rounds, starting on Rnd 17. This was mainly to have a smoother color transition.
In the beginning of each round, continue working in the same stitch you slst-ed in. When counting stitches, the slst doesn’t count as a stitch.

Row 1: Ch 8, turn

Now go to the other side (like a U-turn),
(skip the stitch you just sc3-ed in), Sc in next 5 st, Inc (16)
Rnd 3: Sc around (16) F/O
Flatten, and slst through both layers.
Dorsal Fin
Start with blue yarn.
Row 1: Ch 10, turn
Row 2: Slst in second ch from hook, Slst, Sc in next 3 ch, Hdc in next 3 ch, Dc,
in last dc, switch to black, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc across until last st. Slst in last st. F/O
Fins

Assembly
- Cut out black circles of felt for the pupils and sew on to Iris.
- Using white yarn, tie a knot and sew ends through Iris, leaving the white knot visible by the pupils.
- Sew Iris on Eyes.
- Sew Eyes on Body, making sure to stuff before completely sewn on.
- Sew on Brows above eyes, with one side bordering the eyes, then the other side folded back sewn on the body.
- Sew on Dorsal Fin on top of Body.
- Sew on Fins on sides of Body.
- Cut out mouth from black felt and glue/sew on to Body.
- Congrats! You're done!
