Knitting with Drops Fabel Yarn: Materials, Patterns, and Instructions

You’ll Need:

200-250-250-300-300-350g of Drops Fabel yarn (75% wool “superwash”, 25% polyamide; 205m/50g);

Circle knitting needles 3 and 4 (80 cm long);

Circle knitting needles 2.5 (60 cm long).

Size:

S – M – L – XL – XXL - XXXL.

Brioche (in circular rows):

Instructions for Brioche Pattern:

1^st row: * 1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as purl*; repeat from * to *;

2^nd row: * slip 1 stitch as purl, purl 2 together (yarn over and slipped stitch from the previous row), 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *;

3^rd row: * knit 2 together (yarn over and slipped stitch from the previous row), 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as purl*; repeat from * to *.

Repeat 2^nd and 3^rd rows.

Stitches Control:

24 stitches x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Knit around with circular knitting needles from the upper edge downwards.

Cast on 192-216-240-264-288-328 stitches with circular knitting needles 2.5 and make a 1 x 1 rib for 8 cm. Turn to circular knitting needles 3. Continue work with rib, alternating 1 knit stitch and 3 purls to a height of 12 cm.

Now, increase 1 stitch in every place of purls of rib, making 1 yarn over in the beginning of each ridge = 240-270-300-330-360-410 stitches. Continue work, alternating 1 knit stitch and 4 purls, making yarn overs from the previous row as crossed purls. At 22-22-22-24-24-24 cm height, increase 1 stitch in every place of purls, but make a yarn over at the end of each ridge of purls = 288-324-360-396-432-492 stitches.

Continue work with rib, alternating 1 knit stitch and 5 purls to a height of 32-32-32-36-36-36 cm. Increase 1 stitch again at the beginning of every place of purls = 336-378-420-462-504-574 stitches. Continue work, alternating 1 knit stitch and 6 purls to a height of 42-42-42-48-48-48 cm.

Then, increase 1 stitch at the end of each ridge of purls = 384-432-480-528-576-656 stitches. Continue work, alternating 1 knit stitch and 7 purls to a height of 51-53-55-57-59-61 cm. Turn to circular knitting needles 4 and make 5 rows of brioche. Then, bind off stitches loosely due to the ornament.
