How to Knit a Cozy Cardigan with Thick Merino Wool

You'll Need:
2.5 kg of thick Merino wool;
Knitting needles 20-25 mm.
Instructions
Cast on the needed quantity of stitches + 2 selvedge stitches.
Start working from garter stitch, making the whole work with a length from 40 to 59 cm, which is the start of the armhole line. If you want your cardigan to be long, knit at least 70 cm.
Knit to the armhole and mark its shape. Divide the total quantity of stitches in half, e.g., 40:2. You'll get 20 stitches for the back and 20 stitches for the front. Selvedge stitches will be included in this amount in front. As a result of dividing stitches, you'll get: 11 stitches for the right front, 20 stitches for the back, and 11 stitches for the left front.
After these calculations, continue working and forming armholes. Make 9 stitches, knit the last 2 stitches together. Then 10 stitches to the neck hole, knit 2 stitches together at the placket. Bind off the stitches and you'll get one front.
Knit back. Knit 2 stitches together after selvedge stitch, then 14 stitches and 2 more stitches together, knit selvedge stitch as purl. Now make 18 stitches to the neck hole.
The second front is made in analogy with the first front; bind off your work.
Sew the ready-made details with side seams. To do this, place the fronts to the back and connect them with the Kitchener stitch.
