How to Knit a Mohair Scarf: A Step-by-Step Guide

You’ll Need:

50g of 100% mohair yarn (100m/25g);

Knitting needles size 6.

Size:

Width – 23 cm, Length – 130 cm.

Used Patterns

The quantity of stitches is multiplied by 6 + 3 + 2 selvedge stitches. Work according to the scheme.

Row Instructions

1^st row: 1 selvedge stitch, *1 yarn over, 1 double broaching: the middle stitch should be above – slip 2 stitches as knit or cross knit stitches, 1 knit stitch, draw it through the 2 slipped stitches, 1 yarn over, 3 knit stitches*; repeat from * to * to end of row, 1 selvedge stitch;

2^nd and all the even rows: purl;

3^rd row: 1 selvedge stitch, *3 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, 1 double broaching, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to * to end of row, 1 selvedge stitch;

5^th row: as 1^st row;

7^th row: as 3^rd row.

Repeat 1^st-8^th rows once, then repeat 5^th-8^th rows.

Stitches Control:

11.5 stitches x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 26 stitches with knitting needles size 6 and work according to the scheme. After knitting 130 cm, bind off the stitches.

You can change the length of the scarf to your liking by adjusting the quantity of vertical pattern repeats.
