Complete Guide to Crocheting a Cute Unicorn and Blanket with Step-by-Step Instructions

You’ll Need:

White, baby pink, hot pink, dark pink, and yellow yarn;

Crochet hook 4mm;

Stitch marker;

6mm safety eyes;

Stuffing;

Tapestry needle.

Instructions

Unicorn Head

1st row: 6 sc in magic circle (6)

2nd row: 2 sc x6 (12)

3rd row: [2 sc, sc] x6 (18)

4th row: Sc all around (18)

5th row: Sc all around (18)

6th row: [2 sc, sc x2] x6 (24)

7th row: Sc all around (24)

8th row: Sc all around (24)

9th row: Sc all around (24)

10th row: Sc all around (24)

11th row: [Sc dec, sc x2] x6 (18)

12th row: [Sc dec, sc] x6 (12) Add safety eyes and stuff firmly

13th row: Sc dec x6 (6)

14th row: Sc dec to close

Ears

Make 2.

1st row: In white, 4 sc in magic circle (4)

2nd row: [2 sc, sc] x2 (6)

Sc all around (6)

Horn

1st row: In yellow, 3 sc in magic circle (3)

2nd row: Sc all around, keep going until the horn is as long as you want

Legs

Make 2.

1st row: In yellow, 6 sc in magic circle (6)

2nd row: Sc all around (6)

3rd row: Sc all around (6)

4th row: Change to white, sc all around (6)

5th row: Sc all around, keep going until the leg is as long as you want

Hair

Make a chain preferably over 10 ch.

1st row: 2 sc in the second chain from hook, 2 sc in each ch, cast off.

The hair should automatically curl. Make as many as you like, and make the lengths of the chain different each time. Make three of each shade of pink (9 altogether).

Blanket

1st row: 6 sc in magic circle (6)

2nd row: 2 sc x6 (12)

3rd row: [2 sc, sc] x6 (18)

4th row: 4 ch (to count as 1 dc and 1 ch), dc in the same st, [sk st, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc in the same st] x 8, join to 3 ch at start of round (24)

5th row: Slst, 3 ch (to count as 1 dc), 1 dc in the 1 ch gap, 3 ch, 2 dc in the same gap, [in the next 1 ch gap (2 dc, 3 ch, 2 dc)] repeat [] for every 1 ch gap, join to 3 ch at start of round.

6th row: Slst, 3 ch (to count as 1 dc), 2 dc in the 3 ch gap, 3 ch, 3 dc in the same gap, [in the next 3 ch gap (3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc)] repeat [] for every 3 ch gap, join to 3 ch at start of round.

7th row: Slst, 3 ch (this should be in the st before the 3 ch gap), in the 3 ch gap (3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc), 1 dc, sk 3 sts, [1 dc, in 3 ch gap (3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc), 1 dc, sk 3 sts] repeat [] all around, join to 3 ch at start of round.

8th row: Slst, 3 ch, 1 dc, in the 3 ch gap (3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc), 1 dc x2, sk 3 sts, [1 dc x2, in 3 ch gap (3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc), 1 dc x2, sk 3 sts] repeat [] all around, join to 3 ch at start of round.

12th row: For the edging, sc all around, join.

13th row: [Sc, 3 ch, slst in first ch, skip 1 st]. Repeat all around.

Weave in ends.

Assembly

Sew the head to the center of the blanket.

Sew the ears and horn onto the head. Sew the legs to the bottom of the head and the blanket.

Sew the strands of hair onto the top of the head.

Using yellow yarn, sew on nostrils.

Hi I'm a bit confused what row 4 of the blanket means. what is sk sl? thanks in advance

If I crochet the baby blanket can I crocheted it really long then it is are l have to keep it the same size as it is
