Crochet Sweater Instructions Using Mélange Ginger Yarn

You’ll Need:

700 (750) 800g of mélange ginger color Achat yarn (51% polyacryl, 42% wool, 7% polyester; 110m/50g);

Crochet hooks 6 and 7;

3 big buttons;

3 big snaps.

Used Patterns:

Pattern for Placket:

Single crochets. Start every row with an extra chain stitch increase and finish with 1 single crochet in the 1st single crochet of the previous row.

Main Pattern:

The quantity of sts is multiple of 10 + 3. Work according to the scheme. Start with sts before pattern repeat, complete the pattern repeat, and finish with sts after pattern repeat. Make 1st-5th rows once, then repeat 2nd-5th rows.

Stitch Control:

Pattern for placket: 16 sts x 14 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Main pattern: 17 sts x 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Make 73 (83) 93 chain sts + 1 chain st increase and create 6 cm of pattern for placket, increasing 20 sts in the last row = 93 (103) 113 sts. Then, work with the main pattern using crochet hook 7. Finish your work at 58 cm from the placket.

Left Front:

Make 34 (38) 44 chain sts + 1 chain st increase and create 6 cm with pattern for placket, increasing 9 (11) 9 sts in the last row = 43 (49) 53 sts. Then, work with the main pattern using crochet hook 7. For size M, start with sts from arrow A, complete the pattern repeat, and finish with sts before arrow B. In 33 cm from the placket, skip 0.5 cm from the left side for neck-hole chamfer, then skip 14 x 0.5 cm in every row and every 2nd row by turn. Finish on the remaining sts of shoulder at the height of the back.

Right Front:

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves:

Make 33 (43) 53 chain sts + 1 chain st increase with crochet hook 6 and work for 6 cm with pattern for placket, increasing 10 sts in the last row = 43 (53) 63 sts. Then, work with the main pattern using crochet hook 7. Simultaneously for chamfers, increase 11 x 0.5 cm from both sides in every 4th row (8 x 0.5 cm in every 5th row) and 6 x 0.5 cm in every 7th row. Finish your work at 50 cm from the placket.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams. Sew up the sleeves, and complete side and sleeve seams. For the placket fastener with the collar, make 11 chain sts + 1 chain st increase and work with the pattern for placket. For better shaping, in 39 cm from the setup row, increase 1 st from both sides. Finish your work at 148 (147) 149 cm from the setup row.
