How to Create a Beautiful Macramé Basket

You’ll Need:

Macramé Cord (3mm);

Crochet Hook 9 mm;

Stitch markers.

Notes

Use a stitch marker on the first stitch of each round (for rounds 1-8), for me this is crucial to keeping track of where you are.

Go for 22 rounds as that is the height shown in the photo, keep going if you want a taller basket!

Instructions

Create a magic circle, make 7 sc in the circle and join with a sl st.

Rounds Instructions:

1st rnd: 2 sc in each sc (14)

2nd rnd: *2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in the next sc* repeat 7 times (21)

3rd rnd: *2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in the next 2 sc* repeat 7 times (28)

4th rnd: *2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in the next 3 sc* repeat 7 times (35)

6th rnd: *2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in the next 5 sc* repeat 7 times (49)

7th rnd: *2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in the next 6 sc* repeat 7 times (56)

8th rnd: *2 sc in the first sc, 1 sc in the next 7 sc* repeat 7 times (63)

9th-22nd rnds: sc around

Fasten off with ch1, cut string (leaving about 6 inch excess) with scissors and weave in loose ends using crochet hook.
