The quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 2.

1st row (RS): dc in 4th ch from hook (sk sts count as dc), dc in next ch, *ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch; rep from * across to last ch, dc in last ch, turn;

2nd row: ch 4 (counts as hdc, ch2), *sk next 2 dc, dc in next 2 ch on foundation ch (working over ch-2 sp), ch 2; rep from * across, hdc in t-ch, turn;

3rd row: ch 2 (counts as hdc),*dc in next 2 dc 2 rows below (working over ch-2 sp), ch 2, sk next 2 dc; rep from * across, dc in next 2 dc 2 rows below, hdc in t-ch, turn;

4th row: ch 4(counts as hdc, ch 2), *sk next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc 2 rows below (working over ch-2 sp), ch 2; rep from * across, hdc in t-ch, turn.
