Row Instructions

1st Row

Skip 5 chains, *1 double crochet in the next chain, 1 chain, skip 1 chain; repeat from * to last stitch, 1 double crochet, turn;

2nd Row

4 chains, skip 1 stitch, *1 double crochet in the next double crochet, 1 chain; repeat from * to last stitch, 1 double crochet in the 3rd chain, turn.

Repeating the Pattern

Repeat the 2nd row.

Weaving the Overlay

To weave the overlay, use 3 strands of yarn threaded in a tapestry needle. Lace the yarns vertically under and over the chain bars, filling alternate spaces on each row. Pull the yarn firmly so that no loops remain, but not too tight, or the mesh may pull in.
