Special Stitches for Knitting: Learn 2 Over 2 Right and Left Purl Cross Techniques

Special Stitches

2 over 2 Right Purl Cross (T4B – Twist 4 Back) - 2/2 RPC: Slip 2 stitches to the cable needle (cn) and hold in back, knit 2, purl 2 from cn.

2 over 2 Left Purl Cross (T4F – Twist 4 Front) - 2/2 LPC: Slip 2 stitches to the cn and hold in front, knit 2, purl 2 from cn.

The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 8 + 2.

Row Instructions

1st row (RS): P3, k4, *p4, k4; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, p3;

2nd row: K3, p4, *k4, p4; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, k3;

3rd row: P1, *2/2 RPC, 2/2 LPC; repeat from * to last stitch, p1;

4th row: K1, p2, *k4, p4; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, p2, k1;

5th row: P1, k2, p4, *k4, p4; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, k2, p1;

6th row: K1, p2, *k4, p4; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, p2, k1;

7th row: P1, *2/2 LPC, 2/2 RPC; repeat from * to last stitch, p1;

8th row: K3, p4, *k4, p4; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, k3.

Repeat 1st to 8th rows.
