Complete Crochet Instructions for Rows 1-9

Row Instructions

RND 1: 1st row: Ch 38 and then start from the 6th ch (the 5 skipped stitches are 3 for the first stitch and 1 for the skipped stitch and chain of 1) crochet *1 dc in the next 7 sts, sk 1 st, ch 1, repeat from * until the last stitch, place 1 dc in the last stitch, turn [35 Sts];

RND 2: 2nd row: Ch 3, *1 dc in the ch space, sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc in the next 5 sts, sk 1 st, ch 1, repeat from * until the last 2 sts where you place 1 dc in the ch sp and 1 dc in the 3rd ch of the first st, turn;

RND 3: 3rd row: Ch 3, 1 dc in the 2nd and 3rd st, *sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc in the next 3 sts, repeat from * until the end, turn;

RND 4: 4th row: Ch 3, 1 dc in the 2nd thru 4th st, *sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc, sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc in the next 5 sts, repeat from *. BUT finish the row with 4 dc’s, not 5 dc’s, turn;

RND 5: 5th row: Ch 3, 1 dc in the 2nd thru 5th st, *sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc in the next 7 sts, repeat from *. But finish the row with 5 dc’s, not 7 dc’s, turn;

RND 6: 6th row: Ch 3, 1 dc in the 2nd thru 4th st, *sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc, sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc in the next 5 sts, repeat from *. BUT finish the row with 4 dc’s, not 5 dc’s, turn;

RND 7: 7th row: Ch 3, 1 dc in the 2nd and 3rd st, *sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc in the next 3 sts, repeat from * until the end, turn;

RND 8: 8th row: Ch 3, *1 dc in the next st, sk 1 st, ch 1, 1 dc in the next 5 sts, sk 1 st, ch 1, repeat from * until the last 2 sts where you place 1 dc in the next st and 1 dc in the 3rd ch of the first st, turn;

RND 9: 9th row: Ch 4, sk 1, 1 dc in ch sp and next 6 sts, sk 1, ch 1, *1 dc in the next 7 sts, sk 1 st, ch 1, repeat from * until the last stitch, place 1 dc in the last stitch, turn.

Repeat 2nd-9th rows.
