The quantity of selvage stitches is a multiple of 6 plus 2 plus 2 selvage stitches.

Start and finish every row with 1 selvage stitch.

Row Instructions

1st Row (WS)

*k2, [p1, yo] x 4 times*; repeat from * to *, k2;

2nd Row (RS)

*p2, [drop of the needle yo stitch, slip next stitch to the right-hand needle without knitting] – repeat 4 times.

After you slip all 4 stitches, pass the first two stitches (from right to left) over the other 2 stitches, slip those 2 stitches back onto the left-hand needle, k4* – repeat from * to *, p2;

3rd Row (WS)

*k2, p4*; repeat from * to *, k2;

4th Row (RS)

*p2, k4*; repeat from * to *, p2.

Repeating the Pattern

Repeat the 1st to 4th rows to continue the pattern.
