The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 6 plus 2 plus 2 selvage stitches.

Start and finish every row with a selvage stitch.

Row Instructions

First Row (WS)

* 2 knit stitches, (1 purl, yarn over) x 4 times*; repeat from * to *, 2 knit stitches;

Second Row (RS)

* 2 purl stitches, (drop of the needle yarn over stitch, slip the next stitch to the right-hand needle without knitting) x 4 times; repeat 4 times. After you slip all 4 stitches, pass the first two stitches (from right to left) over the other 2 stitches, slip those 2 stitches back onto the left-hand needle, 4 knit stitches*; repeat from * to *, 2 purl stitches;

Third Row (WS)

* 2 knit stitches, 4 purl stitches*; repeat from * to *, 2 knit stitches;

Fourth Row (RS)

* 2 purl stitches, 4 knit stitches*; repeat from * to *, 2 purl stitches.

Repeating the Pattern

Repeat the First to Fourth rows as instructed.
