​Dust Pink Knit Cardigan

You’ll need:

750 (800) 850g of dust-pink yarn (100% cotton; 104m/50g);

Knitting needles 3,5.

Size: S (M) L/XL.

Used Patterns

Rib: the quantity of sts is even. WS rows: 1 selvage, * 1 cross purl, 1 knit st *, 1 selvage st;

RS rows: 1 selvage st, * 1 purl, 1 cross knit st*, 1 selvage st.

Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 3 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Start with 1 selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1^st-8^th rows x once, then, repeat 3^rd-8^th rows.

Garter stitch: knit sts.

Stitches control: relief pattern: 20 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Rib (placket): 4 sts = 1,5 cm wide.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 128 (136) 146 sts and make 2 cm = 5 rows of rib, start with 1 WS row and for size M increase 1 st in the last WS row = 128 (137) 146 sts. Then, continue work with relief pattern. For shoulder chamfers, in 44,5 cm = 116 rows from lower placket, bind off 1 x 6 sts from both sides, then, bind off 5 x 6 sts (4 x 6 sts and 1 x 9 sts in every 2^nd row) 3 x 6 sts and 2 x 9 sts. In 49 cm = 128 rows from lower placket, bind off the rest 56 (59) 62 sts, the central 38 (41) 44 of these sts form neck-hole, outer 9 sts from both sides – shoulders.

Left Front

Cast on 68 (70) 74 sts and make 2 cm = 5 rows of rib for lower placket, start with 1 WS row, increase 1 st in the last WS row for size M = 68 (71) 74 sts. Then, continue work in the following way: 1 selvage st, 63 (66) 69 sts of relief pattern, 4 sts of garter stitch (= placket). Make shoulder chamfer from the right side in the same way, as for back. Bind off the rest 9 sts of shoulder at the height of back. For back collar, make the rest 23 sts due to the pattern, start with 1 selvage st, then, continue work with relief pattern on 18 sts, finish with 4 sts of garter stitch. In 9.5 cm = 24 rows (10,5 cm = 27 rows) 11,5 cm = 30 rows from the beginning of collar, bind off all sts.

Note: collar isn’t stated on the scheme.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves

For each sleeve, cast on 74 (80) 86 sts and make 2 cm = 5 rows of rib for lower placket, start with 1 WS row. After that, continue work with relief pattern. In 31 cm = 80 rows from lower placket, bind off all sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder and central collar seams, sew collar in back neck-hole. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
