1st row (RS): 5 knit sts, * knit into back of next st, (1 purl, knit into back of next st) x twice, 5 knit sts; repeat from * to *;

2nd row: 5 knit sts, * purl into back of next st, (1 knit st, purl into back of next st) x twice, 5 knit sts*; repeat from * to *;

3rd-6th rows: repeat the 1st-2nd rows x twice;

7th row: knit into back of next st, (1 purl, knit into back of next st) x twice, * 5 knit sts, knit into back of next st, (1 purl, knit into back of next st) x twice; repeat from * to *;

8th row: purl into back of next st, (1 knit st, purl into back of next st) x twice, * 5 knit sts, purl into back of next st, (1 knit st, purl into back of next st) x twice*; repeat from * to *;
